It all started with stumbling across a couple different Ravelry projects made with Madelintosh yarns. Have you seen this stuff? It is nothing short of amazing!
I mean, come on! Look at that color, and all in a red hue? Gorgeous! But this isn't enough, you must see more:
Sock Weight Superwash Merino from BlackSheepDyeWorks
Superwash Merino Fingering Weight from okayknits
Merino/Cashmere/Nylon fingering weight from Femme Fatale Fibers
And for those of you who have heard; yes, I have been 'harlotized'. Stayed tuned next week to hear about the experience!

I love the pictures of the Madelintosh yarns; they really do justice to the rich colors!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the MadTosh yarn - her colors are amazing. I love your French Press Slippers and now with advertising via the yarnharlot you are definitely on your way to success! Congrats! I would love a coffee/yarn shop, too.
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on this. I don't get it when people squeal over veriegated yarns, and people do absolutely flip over them. I'm a big fan of rich secondary and tertiary colors in more gradual color shifts.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, tonal yarns are gorgeous! They give such a nice depth to projects. I want to curl up with those piles of Madelintosh yarn!
ReplyDeleteAlli, I am so with you. The funny thing is, when I was putting that collage together my husband asked why I had a bunch of pictures of 'Dr. Suess droppings'...How dare he say such things!
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, I love tonal yarns!! And, for the record, I seriously love Noro yarns. (Almost) the only variegated yarn I like. Mostly because... it's not truly variegated. But, it counts! I hope you're finally able to enjoy your Yarnharlot success rather than be drowning in it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous blog, and wonderful designs on Etsy. I came here through the Harlot's blog. I can't wait to hear about selling out of the slipper pattern, probably within the first 10 minutes of her post. When you write about the experience, would you include some info on how you sell out of a PDF pattern? I'd love to make them someday (yes, we wear wool in Hawaii, just not all the time). All the best, and very happy holidays.
ReplyDeleteI *really* need to get my hands on some Madelinstosh; I have a friend who's obsessed and I'm tired of seeing it in just her stash! Congrats on making it to the top girl! You deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI arrived here via the Yarn Harlot too. Congrats! Your designs are lovely :)
ReplyDeleteYou guessed it! That well-known Canadian knitter's blog helped me find my way here.Your blog is beautiful. I must order the slipper pattern when I return from a trip to Boulder, CO to spend Christmas with my daughter and her family. I fly out today, let's hope the plane won't need de-icing! :-)
ReplyDeleteI was excited to see that you live in Hartland, too. Maybe we can meet for coffee (or tea) and a knitting session sometime. Sheila in Hartland
Really? Another Hartlander?!? Sheila, I would love to meet up when you get back in town, please contact me!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous yarn... I want to go get some now!! I wonder if they have them up here in Ontario?
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh! Those are beautiful yarns!! I have just recently started back to knitting and found my way here through the Yarn Harlot, too! I am having so much fun seeing what all is out here! Beautiful blog!
ReplyDeleteReally gorgeous colors! I wish I had your talent...love those slippers, too! smiles.
