Crafting Space... The Little Details

My new studio is moving right along. No, I still haven't chosen a color, but I have bought 3 more samples to try... unbelievable! We have made the decision to get the floor down first, then see how the samples look.

There is a new folder at the top of my internet browser that reads "Craft Room Inspiration". Today I want to share a few items that I love, and if I haven't purchased them already, I plan to before project completion.

Thanks so Country Living, I am totally convinced I need a vintage tobacco cabinet. Why, you ask? Just look...

This Letterpress Poster is great. I have not yet decided on what color to order, I'll wait until the end for that.

I already have this clipboard, but I very well may be purchasing a few more once colors have been decided on. So many more colors, its very hard to choose!

I love the look of an old card catalog. I'm not exactly sure where to find them (I have seen a couple on Craigslist- but they were a little out of my price range), or where I would even put it, but if the space is available, I may be on the lookout!

Although my folder is very full, I will save some items for later. Anything you can't live without in your home office/ craft room? I'd love to see it!

  1. I just got my very own craft room. I love it! You can see it here, if you're so inclined:

My personal favorite is the Expedit wall unit from IKEA. It holds my entire yarn stash, which is astounding.

Good luck with your space! I do a lot of home projects, and creating my craft room was far and away the most satisfying project I've ever done.

  2. too bad you don't live in Seattle. My friend has a card catalog that she's been trying to sell for a while now. She only wants $40 for it :(

  3. Laura- are you serious?!? The ones I have seen have been over $500, that's why I decided to wait it out. For $40, I would snatch it up in a sec!

  6. Melynda, Great ideas for your room! It sounds terrible to say that I am waiting for my oldest DS to go into the Marine Corps before I will get my own craft room/office.

  8. I am considering moving into the backyard by creating some sort of lean-to in order to transform my bedroom into a crafting space. It really is the only room I could transform, as the others are spoken for. Winter, though, might become a problem. As with mosquitos. And heat. Fine. No craft room for Laura. Sigh. I will have to close my eyes and imagine with all my might...

  9. Oh, and how much would it be to ship the card catalogue? That should be considered!

  11. I can't wait to see your new studio come together!

This is making me think seriously about re-vamping mine...I suppose I should start by organizing all the yarn.

  12. Great ideas. I have a two unit card catalog that I use as a coffee table in our sunroom. I worked as a high school librarian for a number of years so it's very special. Watch for libraries, school districts or universities that are having sales. They often sell them at next to nothing. Good luck.

  13. I tried looking for a card catalogue and tabacco cabinet around here, but no luck. I was hoping I could find one and it would give you an excuse to come and visit. Don't worry I'll keep looking... Amanda
