The other night I was editing these photos to get them ready for a blog post when Joe looked over and asked, "Is that her?" (referring to Elise, of course).
"In legwarmers? Kinda girly."
I then explained that babies wear leg warmers- they're easy to just throw on with onesies. Am I wrong on this?
Joe just looked at Sam and said, "Well, we'll have to trust your mother on this one."
Agree to disagree, I suppose.
In other news, I started taking these pictures and Sam decided to roll over. First roll over- documented through photos. How exciting is that?

ReplyDeleteMy boy wore legwarmers! So cute! Then, his legs got too chubby to wear them. They would just roll down his legs...fun!
ReplyDeleteI agree that boys can wear legwarmers when they are that wee. I don't think that it is important for us to be sticking to gender stereotypes when they aren't even walking! They're an excellent way of keeping his legs warm while still making it easy to change his diaper!

ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to make some leg warmers for my baby boy but was wondering the same thing... I try not to conform to gender assignations, for example asking our families, before he was born, to please not buy us tons of blue clothes, etc.
These legwarmers are perfect.
My baby boy wears legwarmers, too! I don't see a problem, especially when they--and Sam--are that cute!

ReplyDeleteThey definitely can if they're wearing them with a Michigan State onesie! And of course if the baby boy is adorable, hand knitted leg warmers will only make him more adorable.

ReplyDeleteKudos on getting roll-over pictures! My daughter woke me up by laughing out loud the night she figured out how to roll over. Baby belly laugh! Legwarmers just seem super smart for all tiny folks, kinda no-brainer there.

ReplyDeleteI think all babies can wear legwarmers! I remember when my cousin had a pair on her baby with a onesie. Her brother asked why she was wearing "buttless pants."
ReplyDeleteOh, boys can TOTALLY wear legwarmers! Sam looks like he's secure enough in his masculinity that he could even rock a pink or purple pair, too. :) How cool that you were able to capture his first roll-over on film like that!

ReplyDeleteBefore I knew how to knit, I purchased BabyLegs for my baby boy and made a pair from solid navy knee-highs for my older son. As they grew, they have continued to wear them - especially under pants when we tailgate and go to late Fall football games. And, those navy (very boy-ish) "legwarmers" have moved up to my older son's arms -- like when he's playing a sport in early spring or late fall... He wears them as sleeves until he gets really warm - then they're easy to take off vs. taking off a whole shirt under his uniform.
