Well, last night I realized that I would be seeing this person this weekend at TNNA. I figured I should make a pair to bring with me so I wouldn't have to ship them out later. So, this morning before work I threw some yarn on the needles and came up with these:
Now, the dilemma- I still don't have anything else ready for felting and would hate to run the whole washing machine just for this one little pair of booties. That's where this comes in:
Before you start your mocking, it's not my idea- I've read about it in the wonderful blogosphere in the past. Look here...see?!? It worked for Kimberly, could it work for me?
So what do you think, should I (or maybe I should say the slippers) take the plunge?
Go for it! Then let us know how your results. I've heard others say it works, but I've never tried it.
ReplyDeleteI've heard you have to be careful about the pieces getting stuck between the blade and the bowl (which could overheat the mixer motor). Good luck! Let us know if it works, I'm SO curious!
ReplyDeletehmmm in theory it should totally work... maybe just don't put it on super fast? eek... i'll keep my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteohhhhhh Yeah let us know! I'd love to try that
ReplyDeleteUse the dough hook so that you don't wind up with a snarled-around-the-beater mess! Go for it!!!
ReplyDeleteDo it!!
ReplyDeleteI've loved the Pistachio colored mixer for so long! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteWow, brilliant! I don't see why it wouldn't work. Let us know how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteDon't use the dough hook, use the paddle.
ReplyDeleteWow! Maybe use the paddle rather than the whisk? I have the Tangerine mixer, which I love, but might love just a tiny bit more now knowing that I could possibly felt in it too!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back! Yes, give it a whirl!
ReplyDeleteI'd be afraid for my knitted goods!
ReplyDeleteI just did some hand felting in the kitchen sink. It took a while, but it was gentle enough to not fuzz things up too badly. It was a Quincy hat, a bit too big so I made it smaller.
I think I'd use the paddle too. Definitely not the whip. Or the juicer.
ReplyDeleteI guess that would work, right? It'd be great if it does. Looking forward to finding out!
ReplyDeleteLet us know which attachment you use if you end up going through with it
ReplyDeleteI was also curious about which attachment to use. Looking forward to seeing the result.
ReplyDeleteGO for it! I think it's a great idea...if only all our kitchen utensils could have so many purposes!
