No Longer a Surprise

It wasn't long before someone guessed the mystery WIP from the other day.  In fact, the second comment from Viki read:

13 projects?

Blue and white?

Little Sailor Girl?

You guessed it, Viki!

This is my second Sublime project (the first being the Tugboat Coat), and as someone pointed out,  there was a goodish amount of seaming involved!  I don't mind seaming, given it is something I love and find to be worth all the seaming, and in both of these cases, this stands true. Unfortunately, I was seaming a bit too hastily on my Little Sailor Girl, and I'm afraid it doesn't look as polished as I was hoping.  Maybe redoing some seams and a little re-blocking will help.

Info:
Size: 6-12 months
Needles:  Size US 3 and Size US 5

Again, I am love with the buttons- funny how buttons make such a big impact.

What are your favorite baby knits?  I have another sweater on the needles now and will probably have time for a couple more baby projects in November (granted baby comes when it's supposed to). September will be for working on a sweater for myself that will be a new pattern, and possibly another new pattern besides the sweater.

So, for the month of November, I want to make sure it is filled with the cutest baby knits.  So go on... check your Ravelry queues and fav's- what do you have for me?!?

  5. I was working on the Maile baby sweater because it's too cute and super easy, but it got frogged back to nothingness. Even though I followed it to a T...it looked retarded with the size I was making, there is no way that for a 2 month old the body length can be 3 inches long..however it still remains my fave and maybe someday I'll reknit it with some changes...it's super adorable

  6. Very cute!

I love, love Merry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cardigan-for-merry . I personally have not knit it, but a friend knit one for another friend so I saw it in person at the baby shower and it is stinkin' adorable. She did hers in a soft blue, which was perfect for gender-neutral gifting!

  8. I love the style these baby jackets you've been making have. They're super cute without being too twee.

Your sweaters are adorable. I just knit my first Baby Surprise sweater and love it. However, I have knit several Tomten's with multiple colors of yarn and really like that one piece knit/little seaming. I knit a liner in supersoft baby safe yarn. If I could post a picture...

  10. I really adore the little jacket called Honeycomb and I also just purchased a few new Sublime books too. The seventh little sublime book has some really cute patterns in it!

  11. It's adorable and I bet that after seeing this one, soon there will be a lot more than 13 projects of that pattern!

  12. I have no babies, but everyone else I know does, so I've been knitting and favoriting a lot of baby patterns! Some are girl specific, but you can save them until Baby Bernardi is born. :)
    Offset Wraplan by Sara Morris
Suede Baby Booties by Candi Jensen (totally impractical but WICKED CUTE!)
    Presto Chango by Valerie Wallis
Sweet Sweater Dress by Lion Brand Yarn
I just finished the Sweet Sweater Dress (currently blocking), and it was very fast, and came out great in the suggested yarn, but would be great in any yarn.
Also, as a sidenote, yes I am super cheap and like free patterns. :) Enjoy!

  15. Ok, so it's not knit...but its really cute! I love this hippo pattern; http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hungry-hungry-hippo

A coworker of mine crochets and I bought a similar hippo for my nephew Evan when he was born.
    I haven't tried it, but this looks like it might be a good knitting substitute;
