Opinions?

I'm just about ready to send my little mitts pattern to test knitters, but thought I would include a matching hat.  The problem now is that I can't decide what look I like better.  Enter blog readers- the choice is up to you- what do you think?

Sorry for my less than impressive drawings (although I have to admit that they were kind of fun to do).  I'm calling the first hat "Simply Classic" and the second "Fun and Funky".

Help me out by giving me your opinion in the poll below:

  1. I voted for the simply classic, simply because I think it is more gender neutral, and you know me, always looking for knits I can do for my baby boy! :)

  2. Right now, they're running 50/50. I'm thinking we're having trouble deciding, too. I like both, but think the Simply Classic fits the mitts better.

  3. Love both of them - can you write up a pattern for both?

  4. They are both great! I like the bottom one :)

  5. I like the bottom one best, it's fun for a kid, yet the top one is classic... so....??? I still think the bottom!

  6. I think I would go with the classic....it's more gender neutral. But the funky is cute too...not helping am I??? Ok, CLASSIC....

  9. I voted for fun and funky, but I really like the classic, too. Need any more test knitters?

  10. I like the fun and funky! There are many classic hats out there, but the fun one is still a classic design with added spunk!

  11. Fun for kids - they have a lifetime to be classic!

  12. I love your little voting widget! I totally voted. Both are awesome for different reasons, it's a tough call!

  13. I sell a fun & funky photo prop hat for babies - and people love it!! I vote for that one. I think a lot of people would love to learn how to make it.

  15. I voted for the classic hat. I love the fun and funky one, but honestly, I think the classic one would get a LOT more wear from me. But, wait, is this for a kid's hat? In that case, I would have voted for fun and funky.

  19. It's a tough call - they are both cute - but I think I prefer the classic look. Can't wait to see the finished product!

  20. I am so traditional!! therefore I voted for the classic, both however are so cute!

  21. I'd rather opt for the fun one - especially for a child.
YET: for adults I like the 2 'mood-indicators'/plush balls. Tilt them forward means "sad/bad" mood tilt them backwards means "the world is o.k."
The 'communication code' has probably to be set first and separate in every family but might be very useful - especially for teenagers !!!!
The lengths/hight of the entire hat has probably to be a few centimeters more to be used as such; yet even the 'classic' can be adjusted to work as mood indicator ;-) :-)

  22. Offer both options and charge a wee bit more. I do lean toward the fun and funky.

  23. I really like the Simple Classic Pattern. I would attempt that because there's less colorwork.

  24. The Simply Classic hat seems to work better with the mittens IMO. The mittens seem more traditional, as does this hat.
