Elise in Clara

It's official- my make-shift paper towel holder and wooden spoon dress form has been replaced.  Remember the Clara dress?  It was the first item I knit when I found out I was pregnant.  I have been in love with this little knitted dress for a couple years, but told myself I couldn't order the pattern until I knew I was expecting.  How satisfying to see it on my little one.

Elise wore the dress to church yesterday- it looks a little out of season (I know, I know- you don't think yellow for winter baby, but I fell in love with the Soak Worthy ad), but with a long sleeve onesie and tights we got the job done.

*Elise says 'hoorah' for a new knitted garment (as if she doesn't have enough!)

  10. Funny how the first thing you knit for the baby was for a girl and now you have beautiful Elise!

She looks adorable - love the last pic.

I want to come visit. Are you girls ready for company? :)

  11. So precious. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't learn to knit while my kids were babies ! I missed out on so much cuteness.

  16. She is just so precious and very beautiful! Enjoy that sweet little girl! BTW, I love your blog. Any tips for knitting as fast as you do? I'm very slow at knitting and would love to speed things up a little....so much to do!

  17. Carol~

All I would say is knit more, knit often. I got a lot faster when I opened my Etsy shop and started selling handknits. I remember knitting one day and realizing how much quicker I had gotten- it does make knitting so satisfying when FOs come off the needles to quickly (probably another reason I'm loving all these baby knits).

  30. Oh how gorgeous & sweet she is! And what a perfect garment to express her darling "sunniness". It's a darn good thing I've gone thru the "change", else I'd probably have to pester the DH for another baby, that 's what this pic does to me!
